Hi,

I'm looking to add some extra memory to my system. This is what I currently have:

Product Name Price Qty Line Total
Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £149.99 1 £149.99
Gigabyte Z77-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £66.66 1 £66.66
TeamGroup Elite 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (TED316GM1600HC11DC01) £49.99 1 £49.99

I'm not sure what I should purchase to be compatible with my current setup.

Can anyone please offer some advice.

I dont want to break the bank as I'm planning on a decent upgrade in around 6 months time.

Regards

Lee

Hi,

Thanks for the replies.

I use the PC mainly gaming and streaming stuff to the TV/PS/ATV. The games I play tend not to be to graphically demanding, such as Football Manager, Hearts of Iron. THough, I do play EvE a little.

Didn't really think you could get to a point where more ram isn't worth it??

If wanted overkill, what sort of memory should I be looking at?

Though, I am still interested in knowing if I would get any benefit. If there is no benefit at all then I probably will not bother, but if there is, even a little, then I might still go for it.

Thanks.

When I play EvE I tend to dualbox and very occasionally triple box (wormhole sites).

That said, apart from Firefox I generally close most things down when I game.....

I'll keep my money in my pocket for now....

thanks all.
