I have run out of space on my Synology DS211 and am going to probably fill it up if I move from the current 2TB in RAID1 so 1TB to 4TB, 2TB in RAID1.

I don't really see the price point of the 3TB disks at the moment as being acceptable.

I use the NAS for streaming my movie and TV show collection along with iTunes and pictures.

What would be a good second hand NAS to purchase purely for main PC backup and the picture storage?

Looking for something around the £100 mark then slot some disks into it if it didn't come with any.
 
Something along the lines you have mentioned is too big for where it needs to be stored.

It needs to be small like the QNAP or Synology type boxes.
