OcUK Value 150Mbps N Lite Mini-Size Wireless USB Network Adapter
Recently purchased this as its low profile and is Wireless N, as well as being compatible with windows 7.
Bought it to go into my brother pc, isolated in his room and no choice of wiring through the house with an Ethernet for quite some time.
However.....received it this morning along with his new Graphics card - HD5850
Long story short the Adapter doesn't work, wont install updates for drivers and just doesn't pick up a wireless signal. In device manager it appears as an unknown wireless LAN device, so another fact supporting the useless item which ultimately might need sending back to OcUK.
Downloaded the drivers from their website, for the exact adapter, installed, rebooted - still no luck. I resorted to trying it on another machine, this being my own and to which it failed again, exactly the same. Windows cannot pick up its drivers and it doesn't install correctly or enough to pick up a wireless signal.
Extremely disappointed with in, no fault of OcUK though i must say, delivered this morning just after 10am
If anyone knows how to fix this issue in anyway, or any other recommendations for a suitable Wireless Adapter for under £15 then please comment
.
Sorry for my rant, and cheers for any responses.
