Hi

I need to know if my Administrator account has a password attached.

I have not set one myself. But my pc has had many users (family and friends).

I have checked out many freeware sites.

They all require booting from a disc, that contains their software.

I do not have a cd-r or cd-rw. Also, my avira antivir free, keeps stopping the download.

I would like to know of a similar free tool that will find my password (if I have one) and does not require a cd to perform ts function and is safe. So I can allow it past my antivirus.

I realise this may be a really stupid question. But until I can get any of these freeware sites to download (past my antivirus) I do not know if they will work without a cd to boot from.

I presume that once I run the software from xp, it will shut the computer down itself and do its thing

start, run

control userpasswords2

press Enter

If your account has admin rights, you'll be able to create new users in here and reset passwords for accounts

or if you have an account with admin rights, you can

start -> Run -> cmd
net user administrator *
then type in a password for the account, that way it has a password and you know it ;)

Thanks

I already used bledd. But was still unsure of results.

To make sure i used deception and am 100% confident that it is done.

Thanks guys
