I would choose the Dell, my friend would choose the Vaio. Actually I'd try to see them in the flesh before deciding.

I will try and get out to see them, the only thing that attracts me to the sony is it should be a better build quality and the smaller size could make it a lot easier to commute with.

Anyone else opinions welcome

Dell have the 14z now, or is it only US at the moment?

Anyway I'd go Sony, get the cool colour you want!
