I have a Mac Pro desktop and Windows laptops (Work) and I am interested in getting Adobe Design Suite CS5. The problem I have is that I don't know which version to get. Having a Mac pro at home it would be obvious to get the OS X version. The problem I have is that I want the option to use CS5 at work as well but that would mean getting an apple laptop or a Mac mini for work.

Which version is best? Is it still better getting the Windows version?

Maybe I should convince work to buy the Windows version and I keep my OS X version at home. Need to convince the technical manager.... um ... which is me :)

Just want to know what your thoughts are...

Hmm do you want to blur work and play?

I've used this MBP for work but with a windows XP VM under parallels. It's good as a separator.

Current work I can't do that for numerous reasons.

I do most of the graphics, like brochures, for the company but I do a lot of it at home because I enjoy it and I got so many other things to do at work. I want to get my own copy so I can carry on doing my own things (None work) and of course I will not be with the company forever. I am new to the Adobe software so I have just started to learn how to use it (Demo). The software I am used to is software like Coral Draw and the Macromedia versions of Fireworks and Dreamwever.

Maybe the cheapest option is to get a windows version.

Buy the OS X version for home use on your Mac Pro, which will probably be nicer to use than a laptop for graphics work. Then get your work to cough up and buy a licence for Photoshop for the office computer.

CS5 will run better on a Windows machine (despite the entire design industry being Mac oriented).

However, I'd rather cut my balls off than have to use it on a laptop.
