Well I downloaded Adobe Edge the other day and started playing around with it. Its interface looks like a slightly earlier version of Flash so should be familiar to a few of you. Anyway, just used it to create an animation for a client project - pretty quick and simple. Naturally IE 7 and 8 won't work but as my animation is all contained in a div conditional comments have cured that issue. So, anyone else using it yet?

Never heard of it before but just had a google and it looks really good. Hopefully it takes off and we see less stuff using flash when it doesn't need to.

it's kinda a bit retro though, animating divs using jquery...
doesn't always play well in mobile browsers either yet. Work in progress that has some merits, but needs more work methinks

Well it is pre release still so has a way to go. It's on preview 3 currently and has eveolved already quite well from the first version. If you search on the Adobe website there are some more in depth videos on Edge from Adobe Max - about an hour in length and gets reasonably technical. From what the devs are saying in that video it looks like there is already a huge wishlist waiting to be implemented with some cool ideas. The fact it is built on JQuery should really help it gain users.
