A bit of mixed question..... So I upgrade to a D7200 and find that Elements 12/RAW doesn't support the latest NEF format. Annoying that a patch hasn't been released, I guess I need to buy the latest version ....again !!!!
The rest of Elements functionality is fine for me, so I don't need to upgrade.
This on a windows Laptop that is funded through my business....

On a personal MB-Air I have CS6, I bought the Air second hand couple of years ago and PS was installed, that patches OK and supports the D7200.

So I see Elements 13 as £62, or I could "rent" Photoshop for £200 a year !! .... But then I see PS + LR renting a year for £99 .... am I missing something, half the price to have both pieces software?

I have an old version of LR (4 I think) on a desk PC, but I tend not to use LR, I don't work on batches of images and just tweak a few in PS.

If every year you need to upgrade Elements to work/support, then the combined package of 99 a year seems better value.

I could just use the Mac, but would prefer to have both laptops supporting and working with the D7200 files.

How do people generally keep up with patches and file support etc.... do people "rent" software or still look to buy outright?
