flash and I don't seem to be getting on recently. Flash 10 was attrocious and seemed to cause my browser to crash constantly so I went back to Flash 9, which helped matters for a while but in the last few days it is starting to get bad as well, with even iplayer causing my browser to crash now.

Anyone got any suggestions or solutions I can try? I'm using Vista Business (although it is the same with my Ultimate PC as well) with IE7. Is IE8 any better?

Thanls

I can't help but I'm going through the same problems. Flash 10 just failed with Opera, so I reinstalled both and now they seem to work.

I despise flash, it's a bloaty whore, that sometimes goes totally awry.

It's just the same with Firefox too, except when it crashes the one window it takes all of them with it...

I'll try reinstalling 9 again and see if that helps, but that really is no solution.

what security software do you use? might be causing problems with flash

Ah of course. Hmmm. I'm using Kaspersky Internet Suite.

Could this result in a website not even downloading? I have checked with friends that don't use it to see if it's still working, and it is.

well it can do, zonealarm does all kinds of funny things

try disabling it and try the site again

plus I use firefox, not opera, so have very little knowledge of how good their flash plugin is, i'd imagine it's pretty mature by now though

can you report it on their forum?

i have nod32 in work, and don't have my experience with kaspersky tbh mate

Opera uses the nsapi plugin, exactly the same as Firefox, Chrome, Safari etc. The only exception is IE.

I'm using Nod32 here, maybe that is the problem?

Both IE7 and Firefox are as bad as each other so it doesn't seem to be browser specific.

I turned Nod32 off for a bit to see if that helped, nope, so it's not an AV problem. Updating to IE8 or reinstalling don't seem to have solved the problem either...

(In fact IE8 is now more of a problem than IE7, as it can randomly take out another window when one goes...)

Hey,

I'm having a problem on my Netbook where iPlayer seizes up after about 30 seconds, and the "System" process starts hogging about 20% CPU usage. Running a clean Firefox 3.0.0.9 with no add-ons on Windows XP. Could this be flash related? I've uninstalled Flash 10, but can't find a download for Flash 9... could you point me to it please?

Cheers,

Suman

No worries fella.

This is turning into a bigger pain in the rear. Now Tesco's shop site won't load up properly. HOW WILL I ORDER GARLIC NOW!?

Written off a post to Kaspersky forums :)
