Some odd behaviour that I'd like to understand:
When an update is available for Flash, I get an "update available" window appear as soon as I get to the desktop. I'm using a modem (ancient Voyager 105, still works so I still use it) and WinXP, so I use a dial-up networking connection. The Adobe "update available" window appears *before* I use that DUN to connect to the net. When I click to download the update, my firewall intercepts the request and asks me if I want to allow access. The update then fails unless I connect to the net first, as expected.
So...what's happening with the initial "update available" message?
