Adobe Indesign Help Needed!!

Is it possible to copy multiple excel cells into a formatted indesign table.

Theres the option to import the excel file but I just want x amount of cells.

It does not seem possible to simply select the excel cells you want then select the indesign cells & paste.

Any ideas?

copy and paste the cells you want into a new excel spreadsheet and export that?

Yes thats possible but it creates a new table that would have to be reformatted/repositioned etc.

I have tried that before.

I want a method if possible to just paste them into the current table.
