Hi guys, got a weird issue. I had to recently roll back my laptop due to a software problem, which resolved it. However, I had to reinstall Lightroom. No problem there, to version 6, in the usual method. But before the roll back I had version 7.xx. I could import RAW out of the box. Now, I'm stuck on version 6, which is seriously limited. I cannot update it no matter what I try. The problem seems to be compounded by the Creative Cloud software. I'm at a bit of a loss.

Uninstalling LR doesn't get rid of the catalogue files, so you should be able to uninstall 6, and new install 7, then point 7 to the old catalogue.

( providing you make sure you keep the location of the catalogue file safe in another folder, or back it up somewhere )

Problem is, I've only got the install file for LR5 and LR6, the upgrade to 7 I had before was downloaded online, via the updates. I've got 6 working no problem, but no updates are showing, which is confusing.

Do you have an adobe subscription ? or is it a single standalone install file your looking for ?

Its been a while since I used LR. I got out of the subscription model and went with Canon DPP and Affinity Photo for my pictures stuff now.

It's standalone. For some reason when I woke at 5am I decided to sort this out. I spoke to Adobe who advised me to download a specific file and update it directly over the top of the existing installation. This has worked a treat, so I now have ver 6.14. However, something tells me I used to have ver 7, so I can't understand it. I like LR but I'm not adverse to using something else if its less hassle.
