Adobe Media Encoder Stops Responding / Is 8GB Enough?

Hey all,

I don't know if any other Adobe software users out there experience the same thing I do, but every month or so, during the rendering process the media encoder will hang (the preview window which shows the footage freezes - which is a clear sign that something is up).

Normally, the thing to do is to clear the media cache either manually or in the media encoder itself, but I've found that this is not always enough. I've tried all sorts of tips by way of googling; sometimes it works, but as before, nothing seems to be a guarantee.

So, I'm now wondering if running only 8GB of system ram is adequate for this kind of application?

Ta. :)
