Hi all, I'm having a problem with premiere CS4. I'm trying to capture video from a Canon MD101 and then edit it.

I have managed to capture it no problem at all, but when I drag it onto the timeline and play, it comes out with a purple tint on the preview panel (but sound works fine).

Here's a screenshot:

But if I click on the preview panel, playback stops but colours work:

I have updated GPU driver but had no luck - I should also point out that this works fine in premiere pro 1.5

I'm fairly sure it's a codec issue but I have no idea where to start.

Any ideas?

The Canon shoots standard MiniDV which is:
720 X 576 - 16:9 wide - 32khz audio

Make sure that you select the DV mode for capturing and for editing make sure the mode selected is DV PAL - audio 32khz.

You should not really select any of the other HD modes which it looks like you have.
Although it should not make any difference in a lot of cases to the problem you are having.

Thanks for the reply, I did start off by selecting the right one - then I just started picking random ones to see if it made any difference. Just so happens that screenshot I took was when I was playing around with it.

On your screen shot I noticed that Premiere is giving you an error message.

Click on the small white cross (in red button) in the bottom right hand corner and let me know what the error is.

Ahh, I see, I never noticed that before. Problem is now I can't get that to come back. I'll keep trying.

Alternatively upload the smallest sequence you can and I will download it and check it out for you. There are free services available like Dropbox for instance.
