Hi all,

Does anyone have any experience with the above in Windows 7 x64? I'm looking at buying the Photoshop & Premiere Elements 8 bundle as I'm in need of some decent video editing software, however after spending the past hour with my eyes in google and reading various reviews I'm still none the wiser.

Everywhere I've looked I see conflicting reviews, with some users saying it's the best thing since sliced bread and others saying it flat out doesn't work or crashes constantly.

I am open to other software suggestions, however Premiere is my first choice as I have used Photoshop Elements 7 for some time, so am used to the layout of Adobe software.

If anyone with first hand experience could provide some reliable and objective information it would be great as I'm at my mothers for at least the next few days so can't give the trial software a go on my system and I need some software sooner rather than later.

Cheers.

I use premiere elements 7 under windows 7 x64 at work, sadly not by choice though but it's not terrible, simple to use, fairly lightweight and pretty quick

What sort of information are you looking for exactly? If it's as to wether i would recommend it, i think it depends on what you are going to use it for. It's good as quite a basic-mid standard video editing tool but if you want to do anything more advanced your better off looking at something else (granted "something else" tends to be 10x the price)

EDIT: Not sure if it's any good but theres a version of sony vegas for £85 from a well known shop im not sure if im allowed to mention, though it's obviously there cheapest most cut down version i guess

I'm just trying to get some reliable information on the perfomance of the software really, as there seem to be a fair number of reviewers on various online retailers saying that the software is buggy and crash prone, while others say it's fantastic. But it's hard to tell if said reviewers are providing an objective review or just moaning about problems caused by their own skill level or system issues. It'd be nice if anyone in the OcUK community (who I know can be objective and reliable ;)).

I have looked at Sony Vegas, but to be honest I'd prefer Elements as I'm more familiar with Adobe products. I don't need anything too advanced as I'll only be using it to edit and publish video footage taken with stills/mobile phone cameras and some FRAPS game footage for the forseeable future (although I may invest in a proper HD camcorder and/or headcam in the future).

In that case then, from purely my experiences with it alone, it's very stable, i've not once in ..... a lot of use.... ever had it crash, although im speaking about 7 im sure pretty much the same applies to 8 and i get regular software updates pop up so it's got good support.

Thats about all i can say about it though from what i've experienced
