Can anyone help?

I am simply importing a video recorded on a friends iPhone, adding a logo and then i want to export this to be viewed again on an iPhone.

No matter what i do, when i export there are black bars on either side of the video!

My settings are above.,

I just want it to play in fullscreen when viewed on my iphone
Cheers

Did they end up holding the phone in portrait when they recorded the video? It's a mistake loads of poeple make with phones.

There is nothing you can do with that other than stretch and crop which will look terrible.

Always, always hold the phone in landscape for video work.

I'm sure when I first had my Galaxy S3 it gave a warning when trying to record video in portrait.

The average phone user just doesn't have a clue about it and nor should they have to. It's amazing how many mobile videos you see at breaking news events all recorded in portrait.

You need to rotate the video clip in Premiere so it's sideways and scale it so it fits the project resolution, both of these can be done in the effects tab for the clip, you don't need to drag the effects in they're there by default.

Incidentally, When I'm incorporating the missus's vertical videos into holiday clips and stuff, I do the you've been framed trick of having a darker, blurred, horizontally stretched version of the video behind the actual video, this gives the rest of the screen something to do whilst not being too distracting.

In basic video settings, set the width to be less than the height. Match the resolution of the original. You will need to un-check the link (just to the right) which keeps the ratio the same.

yeah as above, change the basic video dimensions, set them to the above 'portrait' dimensions (320x568 by the looks of it), you may need to 'unlink' them. I'd also adjust the frame rate to 30fps rather than the 29.97, that slight difference will make a huge difference to encoding time :)

You'll be able to play it full screen but it will be portrait, if you want landscape there will be cropping required.
