Hi All I,m looking at a PDF reader but not sure which to get Adobe Reader or Foxit ? I am a bit put of by the large file of Adobe Reader where the Foxit is a smaller file ,plus i did read somewhere that Adobe can hogg the memory up any views please ? thx

I've just removed Foxit and installed NitroPDF after a bit of reading around. Foxit was giving me problems with printing PDFs, it kept asking me to put the paper in the rear tray of my printer even when I changed the settings. I had a look on the foxit site and there's a few posts about it being the latest version that's bugged. Might only seem a small problem but it annoyed me so I swapped to NitroPDF and it works fine now.

Reader X is just fine, it's bigger than Foxit but it's fast to load and smooth in action etc.

I'd still use Foxit though. It has a nice tabbed interface.

Had to uninstall Foxit as it seems to ignore the default printer and pick one of its own.
It's been a known issue for a long time apparently.

Reader X but disable all the auto update services etc.
Foxit was great when it first came out but since then its gone down hill while Adobe have improved Reader immensely imo

I use Nitro PDF Reader, and can highly recommend it.

Why not install both and see which one you prefer? It won't cause any conflicts - it will just change the default viewer which you can easily change.

and how many people have multiple PDFs open at once? :p

i just use adobe.

I do, I tend to not close PDF when reading eBooks/Magazines as I read them over days/weeks. No point closing apps when you have so much RAM and power.

I do (for work)

My advice to OP would be for PDF viewing at home just use Google Chrome (if you use that for browsing). Otherwise, Sumatra is the slimmest.

I use Foxit at work due to the native PDF measuring abilities, which Adobe didn't have last time I checked, unless you get the pro version.

I use foxit becuase I've read so many stories about exploits in adobe. Besides, I only want a program that can read PDFs, that's all. Foxit is 16Mb, Adobe is 65Mb. Not sure what's included in there, but I don't have a need for any of those bells and whistles.
