Hi all.

Does anybody else have a problem when installing adobe reader with win 7 64 bit? I can get it dowload but then acrobat download manager says it cant install.

Has anybody else had this issue and what did you do to fix it?

Cheers

You don't have your my docs folder redirected do you?

I've been having issues installed adobe with my docsvredirected to the server.

No problems here at all. Just reinstalled Windows the other day, and all is fine. My Documents are relocated on another drive, and no such problems.

its nowhere as bloated as adobe though
I'd have to disagree. Adobe impresses me now. It was bloated but on my current PC there's no problems with it at all. It doesn't have any services or the like running in the background. I find the Adobe interface much cleaner and tidier than Foxit. Foxit was a brilliant app; it was nice and clean but it seemed that with almost every new version they added more and more features to it. Features it didn't need and that started to bloat it up. Then there was that ruddy ad that I had to keep getting rid of. Nothing like that with Adobe. :)

We'll just have to agree to disagree. :)

I used to use Foxit but it has issues loading inline PDFs in Firefox so I now use Adobe Reader Lite version 9.3 - it's small like Foxit and loses all the Adobe extra guff but rendering speed and compatibility as well as text quality is better.

not that small adobe reader lite is 70mb installed, foxit just 10mb
so still bloated

Bloated even though it has none of the extra components the full version comes with? I don't think so :)

It's a fact that rendering and performance in Adobe Reader is just better all round than in foxit and I used to use Foxit exclusively until I found the Lite version on a dev forum. It also loads just as fast as Foxit fwiw.

10MB/68MB there's nothing to it.

Example of better rendering in Adobe:
