When I saw this tweeted I thought it was some major incident.
Just your typically nudge and spin into car behind you.

Newey was taken to hospital as a precaution I believe.

They are very solid cars. Couple of years ago during the F3/GT's at Snet two G50's touched coming towards the end of the back straight whilst i was marshaling. One went backwards directly into the armco just infront of the bridge (opposite my post) at roughly 140mph whilst the other collided with the armco just infront of where we were standing.

Given the impact of the first with the armco which brought it to an instant stop i was suprised the bloke managed to pretty much walk out (although was then put on a stretcher and taken off for a check up). Whilst the car looked an absolute state i had a good look at the remains of it after the racing and was shocked to see the frame and saftey cell perfectly straight and intact.

"Earlier this year Red Bull presented him with a 2009 RB5 to thank him for his work for the team." bet Red Bull are regretting that, only a matter of time before that ends up in a wall somewhere.

Was watching it live on ITV4, didn't look that bad to me. Though I bet Ginneta are dead scared of injuring him!

After watching that race I'd now quite like a G50.....

Remember that one, we were at Russell and heard the impact from there.

it certainly won't be one i forget for a long time. It's the fastest i have ever run - across a live race track with a fire extinguisher!!

In the video i saw of todays crash, did i not see him get out and walk around? or was that a different driver?

Was the other driver, once it was on fire he didn't hang around. Commentators were not sure either because they also mentioned that they thought both drivers were out of the cars. One G50 crash I will never forget is the Breeze/Proctor crash @ Oulton Park in 2008, horrible to watch on the TV.

Quite how Hunter Abbot managed to walk away from his spectacular G50 crash I will never know, just goes to show how well put together the cars are.

with or without the engine - hahaha

I was wondering if/how much RBR have to insure him for , so he can go racing - being a highly valuable part of the team surely he has to be insured?
