Good morning my lovelies, currently 7:52 in Sydney, had one of the most amazing sunrises I've ever seen. Anyway, enough about me, the topic of the day is obviously whether Trump's next potty break is going to be a number two or a number one and I thought I'd have a gander on the British Broadcasting Corporation's News website to see if he'd made a decision yet, when I spied ads on said site! What witchcraft is this? Is this finally the justification I need to tell the tv license goons to get stuffed, or is this hotel wifi doing shenanigans to make a few extra bob?

I can't post a screenshot as the internet here literally can't handle an upload. Lol.

Have a lovely weekend you scamps:)

* is in London and his ISP says he's in Sydney

* goes to Sydney, gets outra-BBC content

* Ah, diddums

It's perfectly normal. Were the ads the same ones I get, about those Russian ladies who are lonely and for only $700 I could make a new friend?

I'm in England but my work's internet is routed through servers in Paris so when I pop on BBC at lunch I get ads.

BBC gotta make that sweet ad money from the foreigners.

No, it was advertising a service which teaches me how to satisfy the ladies. And men (can't be seen discriminating now!).

Yeah, the ads showed on my phone when I was in Berlin, but disappeared again when I was back in the UK.

I also had my laptop on me with me, running Firefox + ad blocker and no ads appeared. Then again I was on a VPN connected to a London server, so the propaganda machine would have seen me as being in the UK anyway.

Like with drugs, just say "no" to internet ads :-) I pay £32 a month as it is to access the net and that's only the medium tariff.

On the positive side, I've just discovered there are hot singles in my area who are dying to meet me.

I'll be wearing a pink carnation. Murmur "Rosebud" to let me know you're keen.

I noticed this when I was in Spain, it redirects from bbc.co.uk to bbc.com and they're every bloody where on the page.

I thought it was kind of obvious that they assume you aren't a license payer if you're on a non-UK IP address.

Edit: Congrats on making it to Australia by the way, I didn't see the update on the other thread
