Ok so I stopped using my laptop a loooooong time ago and my younger brother has been on it since then. He must have downloaded some software which is causing every user on the laptop to get random pop up windows leading to reimage repair sites and stuff like this: http://puu.sh/gfsdl/4576efde64.jpg

Ok so my question is how can I find and remove the crap without having to reinstall everything. I have unisntalled most of the useless software via control panel but I can't find the direct cause of the problem. Also random pages also pop up when I click somewhere on the page..

Thing is I already have Norten installed, well my dad got it and insisted that I install it to make it "safe." Even with that my brother seems to have messed stuff up. Hoping Avast works, installing now..

Download a bootable scanner like DrWeb to install on a USB stick. Press F10 or whichever it tells you to select the USB stick to boot from.

Let the LiveCD clean the malware and reboot.

look in add\remove programs or programs and features if windows 7 and look for any ad programs in there, they com bundled in with other software
