I have set up adsense on my website and I have earned a few pounds so far. However, I have come to a realisation- who clicks on ads? Surely everyone just ignores them? I am considering scrapping Adsense as I would rather keep my site ad free and keep the fairly small amount of money I would be making. How do other sites get their clicks without putting them in misleadingly?
I only started a few days ago and am also hoping for advise. I have heard about CPM and PPC ads. As it is I am only getting paid for clicks so I assume the ads are PPC ads. When does the 'ad auction' occur and how does it effect the types of ads on the site? I thought you only had CPM ads to start with and you got PPC ones after the auction. Would someone please explain the process to me as I get a ton of impressions but very few clicks so CPMs would benefit me more, but as it is I am only getting PPC.
