right i have just regraded my account with nildram to max dsl and its around 10 days away from happening. So i need to get my hands on a nice new router that can handle adsl 2/2+

there seems to be quite a lot of routers around that will do this ranging from about 40 to well over 100 pounds.

my question is what do you guys recomend??

i have had a belkin for the last 2-3 years and havent had any issues with it at all.

i really want to make sure i get something good that will last. needs to be wireless as well. if it has voip capabilities then even better but its not a necessity.

cheers

ADSL2 is different to MAX DSL, max dsl uses the same adsl technology but runs faster so technically no need for a new router :)

however if ya still want one

Id prob go with linksys or netgear at that price range

Billion range of routers are getting a lot of recommendations on the UKOnline forum on ADSLGuide

i may be getting slightly confused here then. is the nildram service that i have just regraded to max dsl or adsl 2/2+??

i was on dsl2000 and have regraded it to dsl2 upto 8 meg if thats any help

MaxDSL is just a marketing name!

It's just standard ADSL1 that will sync at the highest rate possible on your line.

Another thing to look out for is VOIP support, (dont know if theres any with Nildram), but some routers have a voip port built in so you dont need to use software and your pc to make calls.

nildram do offer voip services yeah, been looking at them last night, seems you get an 0870 national rate number for people to call your pc as well
