ADSL and Power Cuts - FAO Tolien maybe?

Hi All

I am in the proccess of switching to VOIP at home and at work in the not too distant future.

I just had one worry. I know that phonelines work during power cuts as power is provided from the exchange. But what about adsl, if i stick my modem, voip adapter and dect phone on UPS will it still work.

Also there shouldnt be too much drain on the UPS and it should last a while shouldnt it?

Depends if the power cut knocks out the kit at the exchange. If it doesn't, then yes, you'd be fine.

Cool, not sure if I will bother yet. Still have mobiles etc.

Just brings back memories of when I lived in Carlisle last year in the floods. No power for 3 days and mobile engineers couldnt get to the masts to top up their diesel gennys lol. BT worked fine.
