ADSL & Cable in same household

Hi, unfortunately my tenancy is up and I need to cancel my ADSL broadband with Sky. The issue is I still have 8 months left on my contract and as I am moving back home - we already have Virgin Media cable service.

Now instead of me paying off the 8 months of unused broadband - is the best option to just transfer the ADSL broadband service to home and use it alongside my cable service with Virgin Media? Bearing in mind we only have a single landline - this is possible and the best option?

Does a Virgin landline connect back to a traditional exchange? If not I doubt it will support ADSL.

No it does not.

Unless I've missed something the OP hasn't stated who provides the landline - if it's a BT landline then I would transfer the ADSL back on to that although you may want to check whether this would trigger a control renewal.
