Hi all,

I've recently moved in to an office that is rented inside a building.

I have my phone on the phone line thats just been installed but i need to dial 9 to get an outside line, how do I go about getiing the internet working as its not picking up a DSL connection which I'm assuming is down to having to dial 9

Will i have to get a dedicated external line ??

Regards
Lee

I doubt you'll pick anything up through the office phone. There's no knowing how many switches, filters and other bits and bobs they've put in place between you and the outside line.

Does the office not come with some sort of internal data connection?

If you have to dial 9 you likely have a PBX. You will have to sort this out (Hammer or axe should work) yourself before you get ADSL. BT arn't responsible for your extension wiring/internal wiring.

Or ofcourse you can call BT retail on 151 or whatever but they will charge you or even better use an alternate phone line, got a fax line, but also be aware some faxes don't work too well with ADSL but it is rare. Gotta love ADSL, it hates everything.
