ADSL Hardware...

I have just bought the Pipex 8MB service to play Dark Age of Camelot at home. I have been given a USB modem (Speed Touch 330) and wonder if this may be contributing to the fact that one of my DAoC clients keeps going LD? I usually run two clients so I can have a main character and then a Cleric for buffs.

How much CPU is the USB modem going to use? Would I notice much difference getting a new ADSL router that connects to my PC via ethernet? If so, what brand/model would you guys recommend?

Speedtouch 585v6 is highly popular, I use one. For starters it gives me an extra 1MB of sync speed compared to a usb modem.

Router/modems are better than usb modems.

You will probably get a higher sync. Which means a higher speed. They don't need drivers, they are OS independent. Less flaky, less likely to give you hassle, just buy one
