Hi all,

Having issues with a BT broadband user. The Homehub 2.0 connects to the line fine (7mbit) and gets IP but cannot open any pages. Oddly, it can resolve addresses. I've tried on a Netgear router (also the new Homehub BT sent which is exactly the same model), different PC + a laptop both cable and wireless (virus checked theirs & it works fine on my broadband), all new cables/filters, took the Sky box off the line... they only have this and one phone into the master socket.

After a few calls to BT, running several line checks and things, I went into the router and pulled off the details below. The upload error one ringed alarm bells? The person on the phone didnt want to know though, they checked the line stats etc their end.

The stats don't mean much to me apart from the connection speeds.

Code:
Connection information
Line state Connected
Connection time 0 days, 0:25:58
Downstream 7,136 Kbps
Upstream 448 Kbps

ADSL settings
VPI/VCI 0/38
Type PPPoA
Modulation ITU-T G.992.1
Latency type Interleaved
Noise margin (Down/Up) 8.4 dB / 21.0 dB
Line attenuation (Down/Up) 33.0 dB / 19.5 dB
Output power (Down/Up) 19.8 dBm / 12.1 dBm
Loss of Framing (Local) 0
Loss of Signal (Local) 0
Loss of Power (Local) 0
FEC Errors (Down/Up) 190 / 0
CRC Errors (Down/Up) 0 / 2147480000
HEC Errors (Down/Up) nil / 0
Error Seconds (Local) 0

Any info on the above would be appreciated.

Thanks

At the bottom of IE/Firefox it says opening www.google.co.uk for example and just sits there. No pages load. Then it times out.

Tried it on my iPhone on their wireless and that wouldn't open pages either.

They have an engineer coming Monday but wanted to double check the stats beforehand. They've had an engineer out before and had this issue since Sept!

Is it worth asking them to take the face plate off the socket to see if there is the test socket to plug into?
