I'm on Pipex and my exchange is a green light for March 31st. Will Pipex auto upgrade me or will i need to contact them and arrange something?

lol they aint that kind ;) its not a free upgrade, you have to goto the control panel on pipex's website and upgrade your package or email or phone them.

well i'm on their most expensive package paying through the nostrils at the moment 33.99 for 2mb. they better upgrade me for free or else..... :D

Nildram will be upgrading their 2mbit customers for free but you need to request it, customers <2mbit will get upgraded to 2mbit for free but again need to request it.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. The pipex webby isn't very helpful though, from 9pm til some time in the middle of the night its down for maintanece, so you can't login properly. And I only seem to remember to check it during those hours.

Max-DSL is great, it offers upto 8mb for those high percentage of people on ADSL connections and who haven't got Cable or London as an option (or an LLU).
However it is just that - upto 8mb and you won't really know how close you are to that speed until you've regraded and you see what the modem syncs at.

Sorry what do you mean "who havent gto cable or London as an option"?

I am currently attachted to Fulham exchange and believe line quality to be awful

got a email from plus.net stating there upgrading there customers (or atleast me ;)) to the "up to 8mbp" for free
which includes a crappy 20GB cap which is peanuts for some 500KB/sec speeds i'd rather see 30-50GB i'd be happy with that, i know eclipse i think are planning around those figures for caps ^^ i might see how plus goes and if i get problems with reaching limits then i'll just transfer to a slightly bigger cap.

I think he meant "or live in London".

Yer - exactly, sometimes I try and write far too differently for my own good :)

If you live in London or are attached to an LLU exchange then 8mb has been an option for a while - even higher in some places.
If you're in a cable area then 10mb has been an option for some.

If however you're just one of the "normal" ADSL users.
Attached to a regular ADSL exchange, not in any major city and not LLU then Max-ADSL is going to be your only option to go >2mb.
However people just need to remember this is an "Up to 8mb" service and your results will vary.

Is their any Maxdsl provider doing no caps does anyone know ones ive seen all have caps. ?

Edit: Any decent ISP ?
