I seem to be getting confused over the bras profile period as to whether i should constantly reboot my router or just leave it alone to settle in and find my maximum speed. Its been over 7 days now and i have rebooted my router (DG834G v1) probably twice a day over that period but have noticed i am still capped at 1.8mb, its been at this speed since the line was activated and has not really changed much. Not sure what to do so some advice would be appreciated.

I live 600m from my local exchange and my router stats are as folllows;

ADSL Link...............Downstream.....Upstream
Connection Speed....8128 kbps.......448 kbps
Line Attenuation.........23 db............7 db
Noise Margin..............11 db............23 db

I hope you guys can help & thnaks in advance :)

Leaving it be should be fine - does the sync rate change when you reconnect, because it should've increased already.
If it hasn't changed in 7 days, kick your ISP. Bet they'll tell you wait till the 10 days are up though...

Apart from day one when the sync rate was a little lower the sync rate has stayed the same, just come off the line to my isp support and they told me to switch off my router for 5-10 minutes instead of rebooting through the web interface...argg. Guess i'll leave it now and see what happens as my BRAS profile only has a few days to sort itself out
