ADSL Max - Nildram

I upgraded to ADSL Max around 4 weeks from 2mb. Although the max download speed I've seen on my connection is 300k a second, most of the time it's below 200k. I contacted Nildram and they said before they can take the case up with BT they will need a set of test results using the BT login. I gathered the test results and I sent them. Here is one, this the maximum I've seen since I've been doing the test.

The lowest result I got was 868 kps. I'm confused using the above screenshot what would I download at? Nildram have told me that because I don't get below 600 consistently they cannot take the case up with BT is this true? If so, what was the point of me upgrading to ADSL Max? By the way I'm using an ASDL Internal Modem (Sar Solwise) and it's fine for 8mb. Any ideas?

PS - I am connecting 8.1 Mbps

You have the same minimum rate as home2000 - ie 400kbps.
The point is that some (or all) of the time (assuming the BRAS isn't an issue), you should get more.

Is it true that they cannot raise the issue with BT because my line isn't bad enough?

Jesus that sucks what was the point in me upgrading to ADSL Max if pretty much the maximum I can achieve is based on a 2mb line. I guess I can't complain because the upgrade was free but I'm stuck on a new 12 month contract.

The maximum you can get is based on your sync rate - it should be up to 7.2Mbps, congestion permitting. Assuming your ISP's already looked at what your BRAS limit is set to (and it isn't <2Mbps), that's perfectly possible (albeit at off-peak times).
The minimum that'll be considered a fault is identical to home2000.

I know what you are saying. Obviously this is a BT problem although it seems Nildram have their hands tied. I'm not sure if they've looked at the BRAS limit though I could always question it.

Well I'm back on 2mb as of today. I had enough of poor download speeds and an unstable ping. Now I'm back the speeds are as they should be and the ping seems good.
