Moving house soon so gonna go with a different bb supplier either be or adsl24 not sure which yet. The question is the lines on my street are pretty poor getting 1.5meg attenuation 58db and snr 13 at the mo, whould i be better getting a fixed 2mb line instead of max with these stats?

At 58dB attenuation, it would take a major screwup for you to get 2Mbps. The fixed rate products only have a 256kbps (288kbps ATM rate) upstream as well.

Max can be fine on longer lines as it is the stability of the line rather than just the simple stats that make the real difference.

Even a short but unstable line can give you grief with Max.

I'd be inclined to take Max and see how it goes.

i get 55db to 58db depending what router, billion gets 58 and netgear gets 55, i can sync fine at 5mbit stable on either and im stuck on a 2mbit profile and max it out.

On a line such as yours get a router with a Broadcom chipset such as the Speedtouch 780WL I am on a crap line and getting 8000/768 up (ukonline) my noise is around 6db. This router never drops the line it's like magic. I also have the Billion 7402 but it aint in the same league - though I prefer the interface - but whats a pretty face! ~The voip is excellent too.
