ADSL MAX with a USB modem question?

I being upgraded to MAX ADSL on the 28th of this month the problem is I am still using a BT voyager 105 USB modem and I know that your meant to have a router to get full speed but I don’t really have the cash to buy one this month so I am just wondering will the line sync properly with the modem so I can upgrade to a router or do I need to get a router for when the line is syncing to get full speed?

It'll sync fine, its just the throughput from the modem to the pc that causes the slowdown.
