Bear in mind that I have no knowledge of networking, and I can't swap my wife.........

I need to buy a router 'cos my PC's not on 24/7, and lots of the time when I switch on and I try and connect to the internet, I seem to have trouble getting a connection - having a router on 24/7 seems like a good idea.

Also, my wife frequently works from home with a work laptop and has to sit in the dingy computer room so that she can get the current modem's usb cable and connect it to her PC - so I suggest getting a wireless router.

Lots of enthusiasm but the kicker is she's paranoid about radio waves (don't laugh, she works in the mobile telecomms industry and won't have a mobile phone anywhere near her head when she switches it on or is dialling). So what I need is a wireless modem/router that has a button on it that switches on/off the wireless bit when it is needed/not. I know that most (all?) wireless ones have software that can switch the wireless bit on/off, but turning on the home pc just to tick a box in the software to enable the wireless would be a pain

So
1) do such modem/routers with on/off buttons for the wireless network exist
2) if they do, model suggestions please

Thanks

Cheers for the replies

Removing the antenna was suggested by a friend - seems a bit drastic, but I suppose it's a viable option

I've no doubt my wife could learn how to logon the router....but she'd have to have a wired connection to do the switching which defeats the point of a wireless network

Thanks for your help
