ADSL Quicky? Connected But No Websites Showing

Hi there,

My old man has a problem at his work with their Internet. It will connect to his service, at the right speed etc, but ultimately will not show any websites. It sounds like they time out.

Has anyone heard of this problem before?

He is with Fastnet, but they say that everything is fine their end.

Sounds like a DNS problem. If DNS is setup correctly in the router get him to add it in manually into the PC's network connection.

Right, well, i went in and the Internet is working, just very slowly, sending out way more information than getting in.

Rang their tech support and they have done a line test which was "inconclusive". So waiting now to see what is happening there. Quite a strange one.

If it's timing out, it's unlikely to be DNS - what's the SNR margin like?

I havnt checked that yet oddly.. will probably be heading back in to work today and will find out.

Its a BT Voyager 200, i imagine finding the SNR etc is similar to a BT Voyager 105.. using ctrl+f1?
