ADSL Router Recommendation

Getting a bit tired of my current Netgear DG834GT, only had it for the SNR tweak as I have a long(ish) ADSL line with no access to Cable/FTTx products!

Does anyone have any recommendations for a new ADSL router? My budget is £80 max really, I would only go higher if it was really worth it.. Ideally I would like it to have the following features:

  • Must be a Modem & Router (can not stand having 2 separate devices)
  • Minimum Wireless N (300Mbps+)
  • Gigabit Ports (not essential, but would be nice)
  • SNR Tweak (even if it requires 3rd party firmware)
  • USB Ports (not a must, but be nice as I may look to add an external HD)

Thanks chaps in advance. :)

Billion 7800N (don't think it has USB ports, never used them if it does)
Asus DSL-N55U (recently had SNR tweaking added via official firmware)

Both are ~£110

The Asus has the stronger wireless afaik

Yeah I was looking at the Asus DSL-N55U but not sure if I can justify the price! I have found it for £94. Does anyone know if it also acts as a modem? Reading reviews I can not tell to be 100%.

I would like something like the N55U but on a lower price band, I don't mind sacrificing certain features. My main 'wants' are Wireless N and the SNR tweak.

Yup, the dsl-n55u has acable modem in it.

I think there may be a cable only version too, so make sure it has dsl in the name.

I own both the routers that I suggested (two houses)

Indeed. I am an ADSL customer (Sky's LLU) so want to know if the N55U acts as both an ADSL modem and router?
