Hi.
Im having a lot of internet connections as of late, and although i will be getting BT to take a look at the line, i want to ensure that every component im using is as good as it can be.

At the moment im using a WAG354G v1, 3 cheap microfilters, and two extensions to the router.
The first extension is routed outside the house and up, so i cant do a lot about that, but the second extension, while i put it in, and can change it, i dont think is a problem tbh. I just want my 300KB/s speed back that i know it can do! lol.

So.
I need recomendations on a ADSL Router with WiFi (a given nowadays. :p), and perhaps some recomendations on micro-filters.

Thanks in advance everyone. :).

Move the router to the test socket, and if the speeds still aren't up to scratch try each of your filters and see if one is causing slow speeds/drops. I'm sure everyone here will want you to post your router stats as well; before and after test socket results would be preferable, as if your stats are fine in the test socket and all over the place when in your extension then it's obviously the extension that's at fault.

Just read the second part  getting a hold of a laptop for a quick test would be easier (and less prone to errors) than getting a whole new wireless router, although if you're adamant that you need/want a new router then wait for more replies (I know little/nothing about decent wireless routers for ADSL, never had any problems so can't recommend one over another :P).

If your ISP isn't BT Retail, it's not you that needs to speak to BT.

Have you tried connecting the router to the master socket without the extensions, just to be sure there isn't a problem with them? "I don't think so" doesn't count as sensible troubleshooting, especially when you're talking about spending money on a new router and filters...

The speed that the line is capable of is acceptable tbh. Ive got one spare microfilter, and over the last few weeks ive been alternating it between the various extensions to rule out the possibility of a damaged filter. No difference though.
So at the moment its looking like either a problem with the line, or the router.

If the extensions are connected but not filtered, you don't have to have the router connected directly to it for it to have an effect on your ADSL.

Still not getting what you mean there.:p.

Regardless, i'll probably try the router on the main socket over the weekend when ive got some time. See what line stats i get from there.

If you have an extension connected but not through the voice side of a filter, it'll have an effect on the rest of the wiring, whether you have an ADSL modem connected to it or not...

If you try the master socket, you need to disconnect the extensions for the same reason.
