ADSL router woes, recommendations?

Had a D-Link router for a while which was okay unless it was pushing a constant wireless stream of data (using apple Airport express) where it would crash and refuse to work, requiring a reboot. Tried to upgrade the firmware but it died in the process so binned it.

Bought a Linksys WAG200G adsl router, which is also having problems. The wireless keeps dropping and will not work until I reset the router however if the wireless has gone down the internet still works plugged in via a LAN cable.

Tried every firmware under the sun (including the beta versions) but they are all unstable, sometimes lasting only a few hours before needing a reboot.

Now, there must be a wireless ADSL router which can be on for weeks at a time handling a constant data stream without crashing? Can anyone recommend one?

Thanks for any help

perhaps someone near you is using the same channel, try a different one (router setting)

Have tried a few different channels but still have the same problems, Only one other wireless network is detected locally and it is fairly quiet where I live, will try a different channel every reboot though :)

does the router get hot? it could be a temperature issue.

Not that hot, cooler than my laptop anyway!

Is there anything simple I could be overlooking?

By the way the wireless problems affect both my laptop and my dad's computer with a wireless USB stick. When the wireless network crashes it is still detectable however you can't connect to it (times out when trying to).

try updating drivers for both of the wireless adaptors (from the manufacturer's website)

use the built in windows wireless function, and install ONLY the drivers (not the software) for the 3rd party companies

Just a quick update on this. I took the router back for replacement and unplugged and removed our cordless phones in the house and it seems to have been stable since! Fingers Crossed! :)
