Hi,

My 3COM router is connected and has an SNR of 3-6db, if it drops below this (which it does often). I lose the internet for long periods of time. I am on 1mbit and on the edge of our local exchange unfortunately. I have bought a high quality filter which has improved the signal by 1db, I have also plugged it direct into the Master BT socket (bypassing the face plate) thereby gaining an extra db. I have also disconnected unnecessary noisy devices apart from Sky. Please help - should I buy a gold plated RJ11 cable etc.? What do you guys suggest? Please help. I am willing to pay for any equipment :(

First off; disconnect the sky, even if just to make sure that it isn't affecting the connection.

Secondly, in the past when I've used 3Com routers, they've never been very good with long lines for ADSL - so maybe try using a different one before you buy any more equipment?
