Dont know anything about wireless routers and my grandad needs one. He has an ADSL connection and needs a wireless router so he can use his laptop in the house when the router and computer is about 20 metres away

If he has ADSL and not cable look for a router with a built in modem, they are generally pretty easy to set up. you may also need wireless adaptor for the laptop.

Theres plenty of guides out there that will explain it all

I now have one along with a network card. I plugged it in, connecting it to the network card and it found the adsl signal. I then went into the TCP/IP settings on the network connection and entered the IP address, subnet and gateway as it said in the manual.
It said to get the DNS address from the provider (which is orange) so i googled and entered one. Presumably when i fire up an IE page it should have taken me to a screen with login usernames etc and then to some sort of security setup for the wireless.
It didnt, instead it just said the usual, page cannot be found screen.

Anyone have any ideas, i need to try and sort it before i go back tomorrow?
