FAO of all ADSL24 customers on the Entanet platform
We (ADSL24) have partnered with Entanet since June 2006 to provide a wide range of broadband services to our customers, with Entanet providing out of hours technical support as well as undertaking responsibility for billing you directly.
Since this time we have benefited from a collaborative relationship which has enabled us to grow our customer base and become recognised as a leading and proactive ISP.
In late 2009 we and Entanet discussed our ambitions for ADSL24 and the options for growing both business further. Despite our involvement in helping to develop Entanet's current products, we need to be able to attain greater commercial flexibility in the short and long term. Unfortunately Entanet is unable to achieve this in a way that would be economically viable for either party or without the risk of adversely affecting customer service, which most of you have been experiencing with bad speeds/service over the past 6-12 months.
As a consequence we decided to seek a new supplier relationship to get the service levels back to what they should be enabling our existing customers to benefit from an improved service again.
Both we and Entanet agree that this strategy will be beneficial for each company and we will part on very good terms. I would like to stress that a spirit of co-operation remains between both companies and indeed we will continue to maintain an open and positive dialogue with Entanet for future potential services should the opportunity arise.
Over the next few weeks we will be writing to all customers informing them that we will be making the switch. This will be handled in weekly batches to ensure that all goes smoothly, starting with a small batch of 100-200 lines. There will be no disruption to the customer connections other than the time it takes to change the username in the router to our own new BT realm ([email protected]) which is already live and working. We now also have our own RIPE IP account, so basically everything will be handled directly with ADSL24 (Sales,Customer Service,Billing) giving us much more flexibility and not having to rely on the supplier doing billing for us (and thus away from our control).
We have secured a fantastic deal enabling us to offer an exact like-for-like and sustainable package to what you have now, but with the improvements like no more P2P throttling, no bad heavy load on the nodes and with a lot more network resilience in case of faults etc. Basically like it used to be with Enta when there were little complaints and we were taking new signups which have been few and far between due to the Entanet issues of late. That's what we're aiming to achieve with the move. It's also to protect our existing customers from the declining service Entanet are providing which is no longer acceptable for us and you alike. We want a better service for all and so we are taking the necessarry action in order to move the business forward.
So, we need 100-200 people to be moved over in the first batch. We hope you are excited about our news and would love you to register your interest by replying to this thread to be one of the lucky ones to be switched before anyone else.
This is not a trial service. This is a full scale switch. You should not expect to receive a poor service and thus this is the way forward!
The above applies to all 20CN and 21CN customers.
