I'm currently on Nildram but looking to switch ISPs with them been taking over by Tiscali. I've got a few questions though regarding ADSL24:

Current Line Stats

Upstream 288 kbps
Downstream 2272 kbps
Noise Margin (Upstream) 27.0 db
Noise Margin (Downstream) 32.0 db
Attenuation (Upstream) 15.0 db
Attenuation (Downstream) 32.5 db

1) Will there be a noticeable difference in pings between 2Mb and 8Mb?
2) Can you check your usage (30Gb/300Gb)?
If they do...
2a) How often is it updated?

Our monthly period for Nildram is:

Start 12 July 2007 - End 12 August 2007

When would the best time to be to ring to get MAC Address? Preferably so we don't waste any days of usage prior to the switch?

Can't really think of any more questions at the moment but feel free to give me any advice regarding them as will be switching soon :)

Thanks in advance,

Does ADSL24 give you a choice to whether you can have it on or off? I know some companies won't turn it off and some also charge for it to be turned off aswell.

Beware that MAC key != MAC address. Migration Authorisation Code versus Media Access Control.

Oops thats my fault :o

Looks like I'll be making the switch especially with happy customers :) Apparently only 770 metres (as the crow flies) to the exchange so that could explain stats. Got a new router too, Billion 7300G which I'm quite impressed with although the light for the 'ON' status doesn't illuminate but not to worry :)

Thanks everyone for your help!
