I'm trying to make a spreadsheet very similar to this - http://forex-trading-spreadsheet.com/Documents/Forex Trading Spreadsheet.jpg

I've never used buttons and drop-down menus before, can anyone assist me?

I want a drop-down with three options 'win, break-even, loss' and from there I want to be able to calculate percentages, so %won, %lost etc. In addition I want to link another drop-down with long and short, again giving percentages of long versus short % AND won, lost % - does that make sense?

So I guess you would exclude anything but wins on the long/short ratio because I'm only interested in the percent of wins long versus short (buy versus sell).

It's hard to explain, should I draw pictures? :o:D

Drop down menus are easy to do once you know how. Simply create a bunch of cells somewhere in the workbook with the options you want, then while highlighting where you want them to be, use the data validation tool to select from a 'list' using the cells you created as the source.

Not too sure about the rest but thats probably down to me being a bit frazzled as opposed to your description! :)

But how does the sheet 'count' the number of times the source was used.

So let's do a simple example of 'win and loss'. Obviously two options in the drop-down, but I don't understand how Excel handles them when being used in the sheet i.e. win was selected 20 times and loss 10 times, show this in a graph or as a ratio?
