Hey,

I got myself a evga7950GT OC 560 / 725 (1.45)

Currently clocked and stable at 1.45v 661 / 820.

Anyone know any more advanced ways of pushing these baby's further?

Not a good idea pushing a gfx card too high. There cooling is nothing like a CPU and it will increase the premature death by a lot.

you can water and even phase cool a gfx card if you're that bothered.

tbh most "extreme" solutions will wind up costing you more than a new card.

For air cooling Zalman do some nice coolers that apparently work well.

I would just sell the card and put the money along with the saving of getting a new cooler for a 8800 GTS 320mb card for around 170.

This card will destroy your current card even if you get higher clocks.

The most you can get from GFX card clocking is with volt mods and pelts. Look for a volt mod guide for your card then use the sticky above to pelt/ water cool it. Ask if you have more Q's. Phase GFX is silly expensive with little/no gain.

:)

Hey,

Yeah I've got a self modded arctic cooler X1 on there, keeps the temps below 60' mark. I was just wondering about memory timings on the GFX chip, because I believe that at the point artefacts begin to appear is by the memory, not the GPU.

I've got the Zalman ZF-900-CU on my volt modded (pencil) 7900GS. Haven't really pushed it much yet but it's up to 650/820 atm. If I up the volts to both core and mem then I should manage 700/900 which I'd be happy with seeing as default was some daft 450/660 or something.
