Advanced MySQL Courses

I've got a web developer at work who is pretty good with SQL however he's requested to go on a course which would further his skills.

I don't really want to just buy him a load of books, I'd prefer to send him away for a few days so are there any advanced courses available that you'd recommend?

Not sure about external courses, but you could look at maybe getting someone in to do training. As it's going to be one to one it would probably be more expensive, though.

I've never been on such a course - lots of internal group session based training though - on other stuff..

To be totally honest I don't think there exists such a course, MySQL is pretty trivial to master at a high level so perhaps a few books is actually the way to go. What is it at the moment which makes them feel they need such a course?
