advanced warfare performance issues?

When playing the campaign of this game i keep experiencing stutter/fps drop every few seconds but have an otherwise very high frame rate (110+). I am attempting to play on max texture settings with everything else pretty much maxed but the textures don't appear to be loading properly everything looks awful, my drivers are fully updated and I had this issue with the game months ago when it first came out with older drivers, thought the updated drivers or game updates might help but apparently not.

The game doesn't need it, those 2 settings do. If you read the description of the setting it mentions they need high Vram and if you put them on it comes up a warning about them effecting texture quality. The settings don't really do anything but cache textures into Vram which would improve performance on a card with loads of Vram.

ah right well i am still getting truely awful fps drops so might just give i feel the game isnt worth the effort but thanks for the help

You shouldn't be getting fps drops on a 780. I have a 970 and was able to run the game maxed with smaa @ 1440p DSR without any frame rate drops. Do you have super sampling on?

Hey guys, I need some help getting advanced warfare to work. Had it a few days and got it cheap £8 from a friend on steam. I am on the latest AMD drivers and correctly removed the old ones. The first few days I could play the game although every other load it would freeze. Now I can't get the game to even work. It loads up and I see the first screen but then the screen goes black and I can still hear the music. Have tried everything to fix this but no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

Just got this yesterday and not all that impressed with the graphics. The quality is pretty good, it's just that I get a sort of blurring that cycles from the top of the screen downwards and gets fairly annoying. Especially when you are trying to tag enemies through a wall. But this only happens every so often. Also noticed how the temps seem to go up on my 7990 when in when in the upgrade menu, which seems a bit strange. Also seem to get quick flashes of colour in thin triangles on a black background, which appear randomly all over the screen during loading. Just using default settings atm, as I got a bit fed up experimenting with different video settings, as every time you resume play, you have to watch the intro video again.
The only consolation is, I got the game cheap.

Not tried the single player on this but I can say the multiplayer, on certain maps, is a stuttering mess. And that's on an I7, 12gb mem & 7970 ROG Matrix Platinum that doesent break a sweat on any other game.

Performance is horrible on these maps even dropping the settings to low does not help.

Ascend Defender Horizon Instinct Recovery

And to top it off it crashes regularly so you don't know if you can even finish a single map or not before it locks up.

Meh, im done with the cods now.

the game on decent settings is quite harsh also some maps have issues with lag and such.

bad port.

Runs great for me and actually looks really good for a COD game. One of the better PC versions i've played recently. Haven't really noticed really bad lag either.

Runs great for me no laggy really impressed gtx 680sli i72700 16gigram

My SLI 680s are far from smooth, it's a laggy mess.

The gameplay is awful as well, really not enjoying it!

EDIT: I find playing with a controller tolerable, something isn't right when using my mouse and keyboard.
Plus I found a lot of others are doing the same, their movements are way too smooth to be a mouse.

The game was perfectly smooth on full settings for me when working, my problem was MSI afterburner. When that was on the game would be all over the place. Still uninstalled and thats where it will stay. I had to edit the config file also to get the game to work and turn off superfetch.

Seems ok on my 290s in crossfire. Doesn't perform as good as other games. The 5 min loading times which gets me. Even off a SSD it takes too long, ridiculous.
