This morning I was playing BF4 (as I always do) on my GTX780 3GB SLI rig and as I basked in its beauty, and indeed smoothness, I asked myself does the upcoming CoD title REALLY need 4GB vram on max settings?

I find it really hard to belive that my rig can run BF4 on ultra @ 1200p with very high framerates and indeed, never dropping below 60fps even when the tower falls on Shanghai, yet we are being told 4Gb vram is need to run Advanced Warfare at its best.

What do you guys think about this requirement? Just for the record I love my SLI 780's and wont be swapping them out untill at the very least GM200 with 6GB VRAM or more, I was just cruious about wether you think this is BS at around 1080p?

Isn't true, they always over spec on the recommended.
Or this is normally because they want to use it as a 'we didn't code the game very well so optimisation is rubbish, you need an obscene amount of everything to run it smooth'.

Not sure why you'd be bothering with CoD anyway.

Oh im not buying it, the game that is :D I was just seriously puzzled about the VRAM requirement on that paticular title

I dont think BF4 ever rises above around 2.3GB usage on MSI afterburner, and the game is simply stunning!

You really need to play more games if you find BF4 stunning :p

It's not bad, but it's not stunning.
