Advantage of 3800 x2 over 3700?

Currently using a single core 3700 at 2.8GHz at stock volts (although it will do 3.1 at stock). Is it worth getting a cheapy 3800 x2? How high will it overclock? (using a DFI 3200 cf-dr with large copper zalman cooler). Mainly use my PC for gaming. Thanks in advance for any responses.
 
Thanks for the post craig, I'll probably take your advice. Was it stable at 2.8? What FSB multiplier were you using and what mem divider if any?
