I'm not a bike enthusiast by any means but i do a lot of bike millage, commuting and to get around locally. My current Giant Hybrid has seen better days..

I was looking at this..
Specialized Sirrus Sport Disc

Then I saw this

Specialized Rockhopper Sport 29er Green 2018/2019

I mostly use the roads but this time of year i can go off road across open field. I prefer comfort slightly over speed.

Any advantage?

Not concerned about overall speed tbh, Comfortable safe ride and paramount.

I'm not as confident using thinner tyres on the road given the condition of roads and how greasy they get.

OP - I'd look for a rigid 29er MTB, you're only paying for extra weight with those cheap coil forks and it'll only be a tiny bit less comfortable but much lighter.

Obviously it'll be slower than a road biased hybrid but much more comfortable.

thanks
