Hi Guys

I was wondering what are the advantages of a using a HD Graphics Card as I currently have my Full HD TV connected to my ATI X1650 card and it seems to run fine and it shows good picture quality.

Thx

HD Card?

Do you mean PureVideo / the identical ATi technology that allows the GPU to decode "high def" media?

Most GFX cards have been doing HD long before the term was even invented:-

720p = 1280 x 720
1080p = 1920 x 1080

you don't give any details of you TV but as long as your GFX card is outputting the above then it's HD.

Many modern GFX cards will help to decode high bitrate streams VC-1 etc. so they don't hammer your CPU.

What are you showing on the tv? If it's DVDs, through the computer, are you currently upscaling them at all?
